HOUSEKEEPER OF THE YEAR
This person has been with NFI since February 2019. She currently handles all the housekeeping duties at three separate properties totaling 311 units. She not only keeps the common areas sparkling at all her sites, she cleans all the market readies by herself. Between the three communities, she market readied 139 apartment homes and the average market ready percentage between her sites is 62.33%. Please congratulate Brenda Boubion as our 2020 Housekeeper of the Year.
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN OF THE YEAR
This person started with NFI in July 2018. He always has a fantastic attitude and he’s never shied away from any task put before him! He has had to deal with a variety of BIG problems at his site, including no hot water. His property’s average market ready status is 52.47% with 149 apartments being market readied for new move ins. He and his peers also completed 1282 work orders. He was recently promoted to Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Technician of the Year is awarded to Isaac Felix.
MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR
This gentleman started with NFI in March 2017, but his seniority goes back to 2014 as NFI hired him when we took on a portfolio of properties. He and his team maintained a 50.36% market ready average and completed 817 work orders. His attention to detail and “can do” attitude is contagious with his team. The Maintenance Supervisor of the Year is awarded to Danny Figueroa, Desert Springs.
ASSISTANT MANAGER OF THE YEAR
This person started with NFI in March 2018. This person is an essential part of the team and is a pivotal part of the property’s success. In her role, she wears many hats. She assists the manager with his daily duties and can cover his responsibilities when he is unavailable. She plays a key role in the training and development of the leasing agent. When the property encountered a high volume of vacancies in the summer, she stepped in and helped fill the 42 vacancies and by the end of summer, there were only 8 left to be rented! Her focus, commitment, and dedication to making Valley View the best place to live is genuine. The Assistant Manager of the Year is Michaela Lawver, Valley View.
PROPERTY MANAGER OF THE YEAR
This manager has been with NFI since 2004. Her property averaged 73.70% market ready status. She and her VERY STABLE team achieved 100% occupancy this year – even during a pandemic! From January through October, her property’s income has increased 10.41% over last year. When comparing budget to actuals, we discovered that this manager set the bar very high and she increased the NOI over last year’s performance by 20.14%. I am pleased to announce the Property Manager of the Year award to Nola erg, Garden Plaza.
PROPERTY OF THE YEAR
This property has excelled in its financial performance and customer service. They maintained a market ready average of 62.93%. This property CRUSHED their financials – revenue is up almost $63,500 over last year thru October (that’s a 6.25% increase) and NOI is up over $73,100 over last year – an 18.08% increase. Occupancies have surpassed last year by 2.2% and over budget by 2%. The Property of the Year for 2020 is presented to the team from Casa Loma Apartments.
#NFIPROUD
We wanted to add one more award that really doesn’t fit any individual category – the #NFIPROUD Award. This award will have a “traveling trophy” that will spend the year proudly displayed by the winning team. What does it take to win the #NFIProud Award? The team must be a cohesive working unit, with positive attitudes, optimism, enthusiasm, innovative ideas, consistency in dealing with residents, prospective residents, vendors and anyone who they come in contact with. They exemplify what the NFI Standard of Living is all about. The first recipient of the #NFIProud Award is Sunflower Apartments.
